School closure demonstration
Parents and their supporters demonstrated against the closure of primary and nursery schools in Glasgow on Thursday, 23 April 2009 as Councillors voted on the proposals. A total of 11 primary and nine nursery schools were confirmed for closure by the city Council despite parents' opposition to the plans.
